Darden Releases Statement on Enactment of New Federal Law for Nutrition Disclosure in Restaurants

March 30, 2010

Orlando, Fla. (March 30, 2010) - Darden Restaurants today issued the following statement from its Senior Vice President of Government and Community Affairs, Bob McAdam, regarding the new federal law governing nutrition disclosure in restaurants:

"Restaurant patrons across the country will benefit from this new law, which is the result of government leaders, the private sector and interest groups working together to find solutions. This new law is also consistent with Darden's commitment to transparency and choice. Our guests benefit from transparency about what's on our menu, as well as a variety of choices that appeal to a range of taste preferences and dietary needs.

"Several leaders in both the House and the Senate were instrumental in passing this legislation and I'd like to thank each of them: Representatives Rosa DeLauro, Jim Matheson, Fred Upton, Henry Waxman and Joe Barton, as well as Senators Tom Carper, Lisa Murkowski, Tom Harkin and Michael Enzi."
